You have a choice when you start your own blog to use a free service such as wordpress or to host your blog on your own host with your own domain name. Everyone has their own opinion as to which is better. We choose to host our own.

3. Ping! If you want search engines to to pick up your blog then you must ping them everytime you add new content to your blog.
4. Advertise your business within your blog with a link to your business site. People don’t like typing in URL’s to visit sites. Make it easy for them.
5. Use your keywords. Search engines return results based on the keywords internet users put in the search. Make sure you include keywords in your blog that pertain to your business. It will increase the chances of your blog coming up in the search results.
