Scroll down on the page that comes up and click “Click Here To Apply!” You then fill out the form with information about yourself. After 12-48 hours, Google will notify you via email whether or not your site has been accepted. When you’ve been accepted, set up your ads by doing either of the following:
You have a choice when you start your own blog to use a free service such as wordpress or to host your blog on your own host with your own domain name. Everyone has their own opinion as to which is better. We choose to host our own.
For the first time blogger it is easy to sing up for a free service and although it may be easy in the beginning if you decide to move later it may cause you some problems. So think before you choose about the advantages and disadvantages.
After you have your website up and running the next thing you have to worry about is driving traffic to your site. One of the easiest and fun ways to do that is to use a blog. Its also a good way to share your expertise and gain credibility with your customers. They are able to see for themselves you really know what your what you are doing.
Setting up a blog is simple and there are many free blogs you can choose from wordpress and blogger are just two of the many available. They are easy to use and come complete with many features. All you need is a little creativity to successfully advertise your business.
1. Start with a nice design most blogs come with pre made templates you can change the colors and the images to make yours unique.
2. Keep adding new and unique content if you cant think of topics join other blogs and read to get some ideas.
3. Ping! If you want search engines to to pick up your blog then you must ping them everytime you add new content to your blog.
4. Advertise your business within your blog with a link to your business site. People don’t like typing in URL’s to visit sites. Make it easy for them.
5. Use your keywords. Search engines return results based on the keywords internet users put in the search. Make sure you include keywords in your blog that pertain to your business. It will increase the chances of your blog coming up in the search results.
Advertising is a very important part of your business. Your blog is free advertisement take advantage of that.
Today I spend all of my work day submitting to Do Follow Blogs. These blogs have the no follow feature disabled and when you comment you get a back link to your site. I spent a lot of wasted time before, submitting to blogs only to find out they had no follow which means basically I got nothing for all my time and effort.
The no follow tag was implemented by Google who were trying to stop spammers from advertising all kind of trashy sites. But it had one bad effect it stopped a lot of good people from commenting on articles they had read. It meant that urls in the comment field were ignored by google, and the page rank and indexing weren’t improved.
If you want some link juice go to the search engine and find directories that have “do follow blogs” there are plenty of them. WordPress blog owners have the option of installing the plugin to turn off the no follow tag. If you are a blog owner please turn off the tag and encourage other to comment.
You are ready to begin building now the first question you must ask yourself is “What is the main objective of my website?”
Begin with these four basics:
1. Who are my target audience?
2. What information will I need to provide for them?
3. Am I selling something online? If not is there ample ways for customers to contact me such as phone numbers or a contact me page?
4. Do I have enough brandable imagery such as logo, brochure, or other images?
Once you have answered those questions its time to sit down and draw out a sitemap. When you have your sitemap completed it will be easy for you to build your site yourself, hire a web designer, or a design firm. Proper planning is the key to success.
